KujiraIndex is an asset protocol built as a decentralized application on the Kujira L1 blockchain. It is built specifically for issuing, redeeming & rebalancing index assets. A smart contract vault stores all collateral assets of the index, meaning the index is fully backed at any time and users can redeem their index token for the market value of the underlying assets permissionlessly.
KujiraIndex initially utilizes the FIN orderbook and Mantaswaps swap router as underlying trading engines. Therefore, theoretically any token that has enough liquidity on those trading venues could be part of an asset index. While other swap venues may be considered in future to ensure better user experience by tapping into deep liquidity on all non-Kujira-native assets, they would have to be accessed via Interchain Accounts (ICA) or other bridging protocols, as the Kujira blockchain is and will stay the home of the core logic of the KujiraIndex protocol.
